UN chief hopes climate pact set in Dec

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on Thursday said he expected world leaders to push aside national interests to pave the way for an international climate pact in December.   "I have been urging (government leaders) to speak and act as global leaders and to go beyond their national boundaries for the future of the whole of humanity," he told reporters. "I need...

Right after internet holidays opened the box, I'll bet one of the first things you wanted to know was how to download music to your PSP. Am I right? Well, it's not that hard to do actually. Trust me, I'm no techno genius so if I can do this I figure just about anybody can do this.

PSP uses the file format of MP3 to play music. So that's what you'll need in order to listen to music on your PSP. But don't worry, there are thousands of places to download MP3s on the Internet! And many of them are free. But what if you're like me and you have lots of CDs that you love and want to be able to move onto your PSP to listen to whenever you want?

Not a problem. First you need to get the music from your CDs onto your computer. This is called ?ripping? and you'll need a program that will help you rip the songs from the CD to your computer. I recommend using free programs to do this. Apple's iTunes is good and so is Windows Media Player.

In iTunes you'll find the Import button in the left upper corner, in Windows Media Player the RIP button is in the upper right hand corner. Both buttons do the same thing and will allow you to copy the songs from your CDs to your computer. You can rip an entire CD or pick and choose only the songs you really want to hear. You can make your own custom playlists, too.

Remember where you've chosen to save your MP3s so you can find them later. In iTunes, you can designate a folder to save your music in by going to Preferences. In Windows Media Player got to Tools> Options> RIP Music and specify a folder to save your music in, plus any other preferences you might have.

Now that you have your favorite CD music files on your modems you'll need to move them to your PSP so you enjoy them later. This part might sound complicated, but it's really not. It will take you longer to read how to do it than it actually takes to do it.

You're going to need a USB 2.0 cable. Hook up your PSP to your computer using your USB 2.0 cable. Your computer will see your PSP as a new tmnet streamyx email drive. Wait for your computer to find your PSP and acknowledge it. Your computer will probably make your PSP into E: drive.

Once your computer finds your PSP, you're ready to move your MP3s from your computer to your PSP by clicking on the folder where you saved your music and dragging the files into the folder into your PSP's MUSIC folder.

Well, that's it. You're done!

That wasn't so bad, was it?

Now when your friends ask how you learned to download music to your PSP, you can tell them just how easy it was. Or send them here so they can learn it for themselves!
